Accessibility+ 2018-2025 one of the 5 most important programmes announced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was inaugurated in Warsaw.
Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Elżbieta Rafalska and Secretary of State Krzysztof Michałkiewicz took part in the conference which was held at the Copernicus Science Centre.
The aim of the Accessibility+ programme is to improve the quality of life and ensure the independence of all citizens, including the elderly and people with permanent or temporary limitations by the improving the accessibility of public space, products and services in the aspects of architecture, information and communication.
Not only older people or people with disabilities will be the beneficiaries of the programme. It is estimated that even 30% of the population may have permanent or temporary limitations in mobility or perception (people moving with the help of crutches, walking sticks, balconies, prostheses, wheelchairs), deaf, visually impaired, with manual and cognitive difficulties (after stroke, suffering from Alzheimer's disease), pregnant women, people with prams or heavy luggage and physically weaker who have difficulties in moving around, etc.
All these measures will be implemented in 8 areas: architecture, transport, education, health care, digitization, services, competitiveness and coordination. The PLN 23 billion will be allocated to the programme in the 2018-2025 perspective. Accessibilty+ will be funded by European, Norwegian and European Economic Area (EEA) money and public national funds (government budget, local government and PFRON funds).
