Improvement in the quality of families’ lives

Remunerations are increasing, the unemployment is decreasing, families can count on support from governmental programmes. All of the above increase families’ living standards and their safety. The year 2016 and entering into force of the “Family 500+” programme constituted a breakthrough. The programme achieves its objectives: poverty among families with children decreased, the number of births of second and next children has been growing and families have been investing in the future of their children. The investment also constitutes an objective of another programme – “Good Start”. Support in the amount of PLN 300 at the moment of starting a new school year is a huge relief to a family.

Better care for the youngest

The “Toddler+” programme supports parents of little children, who want to have care for their children provided. The year 2018 brought 3 times higher funds to establish places of care over the youngest – PLN 450 million. Due to these funds, until the end of this year as many as 24.5 thousand of new places in nursery schools and children clubs will be created. Due to changes and the introduction of new regulations, toddlers will be even safer.  

Bigger support to families

Expenditures on the family policy grow. In 2015, funds on family support amounted to 1.78% of GDP in 2015, to 3.11% in 2017. Within only one programme “Family 500+”, families obtained over PLN 57.8 billion.   

Digitalisation of benefits for families

Families can apply online for all benefits: good start, family 500+, family and from the maintenance fund. This form becomes more and more popular. Every second application for the good start benefit was submitted online.

Better offer for large families

Moreover, the government focuses on large families. They can benefit from the Large Family Card, that is, a system of reliefs and discounts. Due to the changes, more and more companies and institutions participate in the programme. Currently, over 4.8 thousand of companies and institutions accept reliefs in almost 22 thousand of places around Poland. As on today, the Large Family Card is held by over 2.34 million of Poles, which is by 1.47 million more than 3 years ago. As of the new year parents who brought up 3 children at any point in time will be also able to receive the Large Family Card.
