Optimism in the labour market

20.07.2018

Nearly 3/4 of employees are satisfied with the work they are doing. The 32nd edition of the quarterly Randstad survey “Monitor Rynku Pracy” shows that, compared to other European countries, Poland is ahead of the curve.

Since the beginning of the year, the percentage of respondents declaring satisfaction with their work has been growing. 21% of respondents are very satisfied with the work they’re doing for their company, with 53% being mostly satisfied. Poland is above the average for European countries (71%).

New employment opportunities

We also rate our chances of finding employment elsewhere at a record high level. 88% of employees is of the opinion that they would be able to find any job within 6 months. On the other hand, 68% of them believe that their working conditions would be at least as good as before.

The survey shows that the dynamics of workplace or position changes came to a slight halt recently. Within 6 months 19% of respondents changed employers (a 2-percentage point decrease in relation to the previous quarter), with 17% changing positions (decrease by as much as 5 percentage points).

Every fourth Pole can work from home

One fourth of Poland’s workforce is afforded the possibility of working remotely, for example from home. This is mostly true for companies based in cities with populations of over 200 thousand people (32%). Such solutions are usually the domain of top (52%) and mid (38%) level managers, as well as specialists (37%). Remote work is most common among the self-employed (54%) and people hired based on civil law contracts (32%).
