The minimum wage of PLN 12 from January 2017

31.05.2016

The minimum hourly wage over PLN 12 (the amount will be indexed) will apply to people working under specific contracts of mandate and for the provision of services, including self-employed ones, from 1 January 2017. The bill was adopted today by the Council of Ministers.

The purpose of the change is to prevent the abuse of civil law contracts by employers. It is also an important postulate of trade unions.

“The introduction of the minimum hourly wage of PLN 12 is the fulfilment of one of the most important promises made by Prime Minister Beata Szydło in exposé. We are finally through with the rates of a few zloty for people employed under civil law contracts,” said Elżbieta Rafalska, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.
