Poland among top 7 EU countries with the lowest unemployment rate

Poland is in the top 7 countries with the lowest unemployment. In November 2017, the unemployment rate in EU-28 was 7,3% , down from 7.4% in October 2017 and from 8.3% in November 2016. This is the lowest rate recorded in the EU28 since October 2008.

Poland was among 7 countries with the lowest unemployment rate of 4.5%, i.e. 0.1 percentage point less compared to October 2017r. In turn, compared to November 2016, it decreased by 1.1 percentage points (from 5.6%).

According to estimates by the Eurostat, in November 2017, the number of unemployed in Poland was slightly over 781 thousand.

Eurostat estimates that 18.116 million men and women in the EU28, of whom 14.263 million in the euro area, were unemployed in November 2017. Compared with October 2017, the number of persons unemployed decreased by 155 000 in the EU28 and by 107 000 in the euro area. Compared with November 2016, unemployment fell by 2.133 million in the EU28 and by 1.561 million in the euro area.
