The chief of Polish diplomacy received in Warsaw Ambassador Mikko Kinnunen, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group.

During the meeting, the officials discussed security situation in eastern Ukraine and its potential development. Minister Rau offered reassurance that the subject of the conflict in the region is one of the priorities of Poland’s OSCE Chairmanship, starting on 1 January 2022. The interlocutors also talked about possible OSCE actions to de-escalate tensions and support efforts which would mitigate the negative impact of the conflict on the local community. They agreed that resolving the conflict is key to ensuring the security of the whole region.

Mikko Kinnunen presented actions he has taken so far as Special Representative since assuming the post on 1 August 2021 and the most important issues of the Trilateral Contact Group’s work.
